Our story
Last updated July 2026
Agenta is built by Connor Deng and Peter Ma. We are two people, not a large company, and this page is here so you know exactly who you would be trusting with an inbox connection.
Why we built it
The problem was never a shortage of task apps. It was that the work does not start in a task app. It starts in an email from a client, a nudge from a manager, a question from a teammate, and it stays there until someone remembers to write it down. The things that get dropped are rarely the things on the list. They are the ones that never made it onto one.
So Agenta starts where the requests actually arrive. It reads your inbox when you ask it to, works out which messages are genuinely asking you for something, and puts those on a board you can sort in a couple of minutes. Everything else stays out of the way.
What we believe
- Your inbox is not ours to mine. Gmail access is read only. Agenta cannot send, reply, or delete. Scanning happens when you press Scan, never in the background.
- The agent suggests, you decide. Every classification is visible, and can be approved, overridden, or flagged as wrong. Nothing is filed away on your behalf without you seeing it.
- Say what it actually does. We would rather tell you Agenta is an alpha built by two people than imply a team and a certification we do not have. See Security for the specifics of how your data is handled.
- Small and fast beats big and slow. Feedback from an early user usually ships the same week. If something is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed.
Where we are now
Agenta is in alpha and free for invited testers. It is not yet independently audited, so we would not connect a regulated or business-critical account to it yet, and we would rather say that plainly than find out you assumed otherwise. Pricing for the paid plan is on the pricing page, with no surprises planned beyond it.
Talk to us
The people reading feedback are the people writing the code. If Agenta misreads an email, misses one that mattered, or does something you did not expect, send it through the contact page. That is how most of what is in the product got there.
